Hurricane Irma 2017 Update

Mosquito Lagoon Camping - Dayo Scuba - Expedition Central - Orlando Florida

Hurricane Irma had a significant impact on Mosquito Lagoon in September 2017. Most of the east side of campsites on large bodies of water, like 9 thru 14 were devastated. Almost all the vegetation was killed off and browned within a fews after the hurricane (see below). All campsites had a bit to clean up. Campsite signs were missing (and some still not replaced as of this update, December 10th). A few needed major cleanups like #9 and #11. The water level went high and stayed that way for a month. However, we did a camp on #7 and #14 in November, a month later, and enjoyed it. No problem finding firewood laying around.
